1984-89 MA in Painting from the Academy of Theater, Stage Design and Cinematography in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg)

1989-90 Painting and stage design for Luchafărul Theater, Kishinev

1990 Immigrated to Israel

2001 Emigrated to San Francisco, USA

2005 Resident in Atlanta, Georgia, USA

2009 Returned to Israel, resident in Raanana

2009 Artist at Urban Gallery, Tel Aviv

Kanchik's style is known as classic modernism. His art combines humor and tradition in familiar scenes of daily life and the biblical stories. His works have been exhibited around the world.
