Marcus Botbol was born in the the north-western Moroccan city of Meknes in 1957.
At the age of Seven his family emigrated to Israel and settled in Ramla.
The multi-ethnic character of the city‘s population lends the city and it‘s environs , a kaleidoscopic aspect. It is this colorful mosaic which hasproved the major source of Botbol‘s creative material and inspiration .
