In 1958 EPKO obtained the Prix Lefranc. The prestigious Prix Othon Friesz in 1960 and the Collector's Prize the same year. Epko knows how to enrich his compositions: choosing motifs, knowingly introducing persons and objects which impart that vitality which is indispensable to the painting if it is ever to come alive. And it is the glory of Epko's painting that it does come alive.
